Job Detail

How do you make our customers happy?

In order to make truly accurate forecasts, the Business Planning staff need to see and understand all the available data at a glance. Only then can they make informed choices that have an effect on our customers. Providing that insight is your job. You support Business planning by creating dashboards and tools on which they base forecasts and make adjustments. While the customer may not even notice you, you nevertheless serve as the indispensable link in improving the customer experience.

What Will You Do

Our Business Analyst makes informed decisions based on data. And we have plenty of that at bol.com. However, that doesn’t imply that it’s all orderly and clear. While it may involve a dashboard here, an Excel document there, there is no actual clarity about which information can be found where.

Thank goodness we have you, therefore. You will serve as Business Planning’s support person. How? By building dashboards, compiling reports and retrieving data from our IT landscape and making it available to the controllers. We use a kind of Excel on steroids for this purpose: Vena. This system enables you to make changes at the click of a button, if Business Planning so requires. Thanks to your hard work, forecasting runs smoothly and adjustments can be made at the drop of a hat. From scenario tools to templates for savings: You create it.

  • You have at least three years’ relevant work experience
  • Your CV boasts ample tool knowledge
  • You both bear responsibility and comprehend the importance of your job
  • You can translate FP&A’s questions into concrete tools

3 reasons why this is (not) for you

  • – The good bits need to stay No, if you consider a completed dashboard sacred and are loathe to change things
  • – Now it’s your turn No, if you pass on a ‘completed’ dashboard to the next person, and never give it a second glance
  • – Just do the same as yesterday No, if you enjoy doing the same thing day in day out, while change makes you panic
  • + You speak both figures and letters Yes, if you can translate data into a clear story that your colleagues comprehend
  • + Max Verstappen, eat your heart out Yes, if you shift gear as effortlessly as Max Verstappen. Has someone posed an urgent question? You are already in seventh gear
  • + Excel! But much more! Yes, if you wax lyrical about the use of Excel, and are therefore keen to learn all the intricacies of the 2.0 version

Where you`ll work

You’ll be at the heart of the Business planning team . Surround yourself with controllers who really know their stuff, yet expect clarity from you. It is a dynamic environment, where a Business Analyst like yourself has to be ready to facilitate. You offer some fifty colleagues both clarity and a summary. This enables them to make well-founded decisions. Fellow analysts at Business Control are invariably prepared to spar with you.

It is our responsibility to enable an environment that unleashes the power of diversity.
